METHODS TO PRESERVE THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF WOOD

Natural oils, protective polishes and regular maintenance methods are used to preserve the natural appearance, texture and color balance of wood for many years.

The primary methods that shield wood from deformation, moisture, and sunlight are:

Natural Oil Applications (Tung, Linen or Linseed Oil): Penetrates the pores of the wood and nourishes it from the inside out. It allows the wood to breathe while highlighting its natural texture and grain patterns.

Transparent Wood Preservatives (Impregnation and Colorless Varnishes): It acts as a shield against water, moisture and harmful insects by forming a layer on the surface. Those with UV filters should be preferred to prevent the color fading effect of sunlight (UV).

Natural Beeswax (Bee Wax): It is an excellent natural option for brightening, smoothing and gaining extra water repellency on the surface after oil application.

Regular Cleaning and Moisture Balance: It is necessary to clean wooden surfaces with a slightly damp cloth instead of harsh chemicals. In extremely dry or very humid environments, the ambient humidity should be balanced to prevent the wood from cracking or stretching.

Protection from Sun and Direct Heat: Keeping wooden items away from direct heat sources such as heating radiators and prolonged steep sunlight prevents cracking and discoloration.
