WOOD TYPES

Wood types are basically divided into two main groups: hardwoods (usually leafy trees) and softwoods (coniferous trees).

The most commonly used wood types include:

1. Hardwoods (Durable and Decorative)

Oak: It is a very durable, heavy and prominent grain tree. It is frequently preferred in furniture, flooring (parquet) and outdoor structures.

Walnut: It stands out with its dark color tones and rich veining. It is used in luxury furniture, carvings and gun stocks.

Beech (Hornbeam): It is a hard, tightly textured and flexible wood. It is common in making chairs, plywood and wooden hand tools.

Maple: Light in color, smooth texture, and resistant to wear. Used for kitchen countertops, instruments, and gym floors.

2. Soft Woods (Easy to Process and Economical)

Pine: It is an easy-to-process, light and affordable species. It is widely used in construction carcasses, interior furniture and joinery.

Spruce: It is a light and light-colored wood with smooth fibers. It is used in the soundboards of musical instruments and in papermaking because it has good sound transmission.

Fir: It is similar to pine but resin-free. It is preferred in carpentry, packaging boxes and plywood production.

3. Exotic and Specialty Woods

Teak (Teak): Since it is rich in natural oils, it is extremely resistant to water, moisture and worms. It is indispensable for yacht decks and outdoor furniture.

Ebony: It is a very dark (close to black) colored, heavy and high-density luxury wood.

Mahogany: It is a stylish type used in red-brown tones to make quality furniture and instruments.
